Calling all defenders of the Great Lakes!
Line 5 is a 63 year old pipeline beneath the Straits of Mackinac. It carries light crude oil and natural gas, and is owned by the same irresponsible company (Enbridge) that allowed the Kalamazoo River oil spill to occur. This pipeline poses too great of a risk to our Great Lakes.
A flotilla is a large group of kayaks/kayaktivists protesting on the water for a cause, or calling for an ACTION. If this pipeline breaks, it will devastate the pristine Waters of Lake Michigan for centuries. #shutdownline5 |

Bring your own kayak, life vest, and any extra if you have them! Reserve a kayak ahead of time through Great Turtle Kayak Tours or pay by the hour on the site. Kayak guides will be assisting on the water as well as Tribal Waters Safety Patrols. A portion of rental proceeds will be donated to Pipeline 5 Protest Efforts.
